What Others Say about Youssef Hilo |
TO ALL WHO VISIT MY WEBSITE: The best things I can say about myself are to repeat what others have said about me. I do not solicit compliments, but am trhilled to receive them without asking, because compliments tell me I've been responsive to my customers' wants and needs, and an occasional "criticism" tells me what I can do better for them in the future in sharing history, opening up the Holy Land and in building friendships. Here are some of the wonderful comments shared with me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
"Hello Mr Hilo, It was a pleasure working with you... I have had many difficult experiences working with contacts overseas, it was refreshing to work with someone so dedicated and competent. You are truly an honorary member of (our) AD team! Thanks again – if I am ever in Jordan I know who to call!" "Youssef, good friend, I am writing this publicly on Facebook because I want all my friends in the US to meet you - the most knowledgeable and gracious guide to Jordan, the 'Other Holy Land'. What a joy it has been for me to visit the land of Jordan three times, to feel very safe there, to visit biblical Gilead, Mt. Nebo, the baptismal site east of the Jordan, so many other places Jesus walked and John the baptist walked and where Moses led the people. Visiting Jordan changed my whole understanding of and appreciation for the biblical journey. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Much love to you, Sana, and Lina. I pray to visit you again in person!" Carole April 22,2009 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
"In Spring 2004 I was invited by a colleague of mine, a USC professor, to help her take a group of college students to Jordan for nine days to experience this small Middle East country… When we landed, I was met by a Jordanian tour guide named Youssef… For the next seven days we escorted the students to numerous historic sites and (Youssef) would often point out some 2,000-year or old relic and ask us if we knew the Biblical significance or passage that was associated with it. …One day (Youssef) assembled the students together at a Roman ruin and pointed out that we were under a fig tree, in search of shade, much like Jesus would do when conversing with followers in the area. …As the sun set…, we headed back to our desert camp to dine and sleep. When we all were about to turn in for the evening, (Youssef) rounded us up around the fire and explained that he was a Bedouin … whose ancestors had lived in this area for many generations. He said that this desert saw Moses lead the people out of Egypt to the Promised Land and many other significant events. He now asked if he could share this desert with us. … Now the stars almost blinded me … shouted to me! … God used a Muslin tour guide and the stars to talk to me that … night. During that trip the Bible became more than printed words … it became real. God humbled me and showed me that a Muslin tour guide knew more about Him and my Christian faith than (I knew)." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
